Lady in red is a bit of a fashion cliche, but the way to wear the colour without the Chris de Burgh connotations is dependent on two things: the shade you choose and the colours you wear it with. A proper scarlet looks good contrasted with soft pastels, as seen on Pam, or as a lick of colour on stripes on coordinating separates, such as the ones Amber is wearing. Claret is a modern take on red, and looks very ‘catwalk’ with navy blue (see Lisskulla) or a pink the colour of Elastoplast (Hanna). Or try a browny red on a Bardot neckline: worn by Nyamka with a slash of red lipstick, this is what a lady in red looks like in 2015. Melanie Wilkinson
