If there’s a sign that it’s nearly spring it’s my desk: currently littered with bottles of nail varnish the colour of iced party rings. This year, once again, the big trend for nails is pastel shades. But if you’re not 12, or you think sugared almonds for fingers wouldn’t quite work in your next board meeting, there’s a cooler way of doing things. On the SS15 catwalks, the big trend was for muted, almost-white versions of the traditional pastel shades. Failing that, sober mauves, grey-blues and mints, and “peige” (yep, that’s peach-beige, or “off-duty ballerina”, according to the fashion crowd). There was also some nice nude-y nail art. I’ve been Googling “negative space nails” and using RMK’s Nail Art Liner (£14, selfridges.co.uk) to recreate.
