Unlike the horrific trick of the no-make-up make-up trend (which you’ll hear me angsting about another day), the nude lip has a bit of power beneath it. It’s not a naked lip. Like expensive stockings for the mouth, its basic job is to take nature and make it look sexier. Except this season, on the John Galliano and DKNY catwalks, where it works as a sort of matte concealer, drawing attention up to the eyes. Take care choosing the shade (pinkish for olive skin; orange-ish for darker skin) and smudge it in at the lip line for a flattering tint.
