She’s a
global style icon whose outfit choices – and savvy ability to seamlessly
mix high street with high-end fashion – have become more coveted than those of
A-list celebrities and models.
So naturally all eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge as she stepped off a flight at Sydney airport with Prince George in a retro sailor suit on her hip and her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, in navy for her first official tour of Australia. The duchess wore an incredibly chic, sunny yellow, boat-neck, body-conscious dress. Modern, minimalistic and with graphic white panels, it may not have been the work of an Australian – it’s by the British Serbian designer Roksanda Ilincic – but the shade was a nod to Australia’s unofficial colours, green and gold.
The duke and duchess drew crowds at an Opera House reception, the opening of their 10-day tour, which naturally the
fashion pack were watching. We wait with bated breath for Kate to wear an Australian designer. Our money is on Carla Zampatti.
