The sweatshirt been transformed over the past five years, from sportswear to catwalk trend to fashion classic, up there with the camel coat and five-button jeans. Conveniently, the sweatshirt goes with both, as you can see. Pam wears hers with a boxy coat, while Lily mixes hers – grey marl with a chevron of red – with boyfriend-cut jeans. They can look smart (see Michele, in a teal number and culottes) or playful, with a slogan such as ‘It’s time’. And while D’arcy looks great with a catwalk-worthy print plus yellow skirt, my heart will always belong to the grey marl. Sporty, stylish and a fashion classic – invest now.
