James May’s ‘petrolhead’ hat

The horror, the horror. Not the content of the doorstepped Sky News interview with James May, in which the Top Gear co-host implies that, if Clarkson goes, he may go too, because the current version of Top Gear only works because of the way the presenter “package” works. Not that, no. Rather the hat fashioned, presumably, from marble art, felt and inspired by a petrol spill which suggests that May is, quite literally, a petrolhead. As wardrobe choices go, it’s also a tragedy. But then given that’s precisely how May describes the Clarkson debacle, one that kind of makes sense.
