The best lip treatment oils | Megan Conner

In the past couple of years we’ve gone a bit bonkers for beauty oils. We’ve witnessed the rise of facial oils, coconut oil (if I had a pound for every time someone told me I could slather it all over my body and cook with it) and we’ve encountered hair oil – a trend that’s no longer a “trend” but a thing. The only area we haven’t thought much about is our lips, one part of the body that has no oil glands and could do with the most moisturising. Clarins launches Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil (£18.50, clarins.co.uk) this week and it’s closely followed by YSL’s Volupte Tint in Oil (£23.50, yslbeauty.co.uk, which launches on 28 January). Both are tinted lip oils that glide on and feel rich but not sticky, which I think is the real benefit of a lip oil, besides nourishing. For something simpler, The Body Shop Natural Lip Roll-on (£4, thebodyshop.co.uk) is great for keeping by your desk, or in a non-bulging purse (well, it is January…).
