Aesthetically speaking, Cher isn’t exactly chasing the grey pound by becoming the latest ‘older woman’ to star in a Marc Jacobs campaign – just look at her hair. But still the ad, photographed by David Sims, which shows the 69-year-old singer in a floor length Marc Jacobs dress and leather gloves, is another example of fashion celebrating older women. Earlier this year, Joan Didion became the face of Céline. As casting goes, it’s not surprising – Marc Jacobs brought Cher as his date to the Met Gala. Plus she’s pretty dreamy, grey hair or not.
