The Oscars, 2015. Just out of shot are the most important people on the red carpet. They aren’t publicists, partners or moguls. They are the stylists – or, rather, the super-stylists, with excellent hair and the power to propel an actor into a new category, score a campaign or a cover. Women such as Petra Flannery, who was named the most influential stylist by the Hollywood Reporter and whose clients include Amy Adams (who initially refused to wear a white Lanvin dress at this year’s Baftas but was gently encouraged by Flannery … to great success). This week, bringing new meaning to the words ‘power lunch’, Jimmy Choo gathered them altogether at Soho House, West Hollywood, for the fifth annual 25 Most Powerful Stylists lunch.
