great smoothing brush, August 22, 2012

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
This review is from: Diane Wave Brush, 100% Soft Boar Bristles (Misc.)
upon reading many other reviews, I’m writing this review to set them all (who don’t know) straight. This is NOT a standard hair brush, its NOT ment to un Knott your tangles. Its a smoothing brush, its ment to help smooth out kinks in the hair when styling it, its also been used for centres as a night brush. Woman (including my self) would use this brush at night to pull the natural conditioning oils down from the scalp to the ends of the hair, thus reducing an oily scalp, and reducing split ends, and damaged hair. This is good for your hair, and helps make your hair beautiful and shinny. The boar hair Bristles are best when they are soft, makes it easy to brush against the skin, its a wonderful brush to use on your baby’s and kids tender heads and hair. I use this brush 2 times a day, the bristles are strong and has never fallen out, the brush has been built good. I love this brush, and have told my besties about this brush.

This is a TREMENDOUS all around brush!!, January 31, 2012

The Diane No. 8119 is not a soft brush nor a hard brush. It is a medium brush even though it is not labeled as one. You can use it when you get a fresh cut as low as a 1, and 6 weeks of wolfing later you will still be able to use this brush without switching to a harder brush such as the Diane No. 8159. Compared to the Diane No. 8169 which I also have, this brush has harder bristles but they are not as firmly placed in the brush as the Diane No. 8159 is. I have been looking for ONE brush I can use throughout my whole waving process and this brush is a perfect medium between soft bristles and hard bristles. The satin finish is stunning and the bristles are throughly spread out so there is no doubt that the bristles will reach your crown. The brushes I have used prior are the Wav Enforcer #552 (medium brush but very close bristle placement), Annie #2121 (soft military brush), Annie #2119 (soft/medium brush), and the Diane #8169 (very good brush but too soft to use when wolfing). After buying this brush today, no more using multiple brushes for me. LOVE IT!!!!!

Boar bristles are the best you can use on your hair because they distribute the oils to the ends. Not meaning that they make your hair oily, but take the oils from the top of your head in order to condition your hair where it’s most dry…the ends.

Because of this, they’ve been used and recommended forever. In stores, unless I’m specifically in a beauty shop, I can usually only find boars bristles MIXED with plastic which I’ve never found to do as good of a job keeping my hair in great shape as the pure boar bristles…and, oddly, they are actually higher priced than this.

This is the cheapest 100% boar bristle brush I’ve found so I was elated as it’s a staple in my beauty routine, I left my other one in Florida, and I figure since there is no tax that helps out some in spite of shipping so it still comes out cheaper than what I’ve found in a store and of better quality. The bristles stay in and it lasts.

I actually prefer it with no handle…that’s just how I hold my brush for best control when using the boar bristle brushes.

I hate to leave a review without a negative but, I mean, it IS just a brush…it works great and it lasts and holds great in my palm. I can’t think of one.
