Summer hairstyle trends impressed us, especially the popular hair trend with the effect of wet hair. However when the models at Lanvin, Prada, Alberta Ferretti, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Just Cavalli appeared on the podium looking like they just emerged from the pool, we found it necessary to ask for explanations from the experts. It turned out that wet hair work well, not only with light transparent shirts and dresses, but also with warm sweaters and even autumn coats. In fact there are many examples of that. For example Lanvin “wet” strands were gathered in a sloppy beam while Just Cavalli stylists left them smooth, flowing and completely glossy as if the models just came out of the sea. Meanwhile on the show 3.1 Phillip Lim the dominating hairstyles reminded us of the way we look after heading out of the gym.

Hans Nilsson, a talented stylist of the international team of Sebastian Professional, shared with us the instructions for a ”wet hair” style just as the ones shown off by Lanvin: “In semi-dry hair, from roots to half way through you need to apply a mixture of elastic gel and microcrystals for a strong fix. Also a styling gel with light fixation for the texture wouldn’t bother. Once you apply the needed products you need to tighten all the hair into a ponytail at the nape of the neck. Then you need to apply a small amount of volumizing mousse for a strong fixation and gather it in a sloppy bun using few bobby pins. At last you need to dry the hair with a hairdryer and secure the look with a multi-functional lacquer.
Now we also asked stylists of Moroccanoil to share with us their secrets and of course they did!
So as one of the stylists mentioned, referring to a model that stole out attention at Moroccanoil the main goal was to add the retro flair of the unforgettable 80’s: “We particularly carefully studied fashion shot by Bruce Weber and hairstyles in the characteristic style of Talisa Soto”. To copy that look, first of all you need to apply a mousse for the volume then comb the hair with a soft brush. Then spray a root boost spray into strands in the face and on the top part of the hair. At last dry it out brushing with a flat brush in an upward direction and towards the face.
As for the looks at Just Cavalli, stylists seem to prefer minimalism in everything, using an unusual method of applying hair gel. “At first I gave the hair a natural candor, by pulling it with the hair dryer and combing – says stylist show James Pesci. – Then I brushed the strands back and behind the ears, fixing the hair with a hairspray. Then I concentrated on a key detail – applying a small brush dense layer of styling gel, to create the effect of maximum shine and wet hair. At last I applied a small amount of oil to moisten the tips and complement the look.”
